Once you've been married a few years and had a few kids life can make it hard to spend time with your spouse! Between jobs sucking up our time, kids leaving us exhausted and burned out, extended family and friends trying to give well meaning (or sometimes not so well meaning) advice, it can feel impossible to get enough time with our husbands! Last week I wrote about the best thing my husband and I did to help strengthen our marriage (check it out here if you haven't already seen it), so now I want to share some free date night ideas that Mr. Lyfe and I came up with to spend intentional time together WITHOUT spending a lot of money.
These are all free activities with the exception of the first (because it involves buying some takeout). Most of these don't require a babysitter either, which means they can be done while kids are sleeping or while they play outside. Most of our ideas have a "learn together" component as well, which is great for bonding and building up family skills! There are many more ideas I could add to the list, but this should hopefully give you a solid starting point to figuring out the mind of Stay-at-Home kinds of dates that you like. I'd encourage you to spend at least half of your date night time actively doing or learning something together rather than just watching movies. Shows are a great way to relax, but growing together is important as well! I hope you have fun trying out these date ideas, Mr. Lyfe and I are certainly enjoying them! What sorts of dates do you enjoy with your spouse? Share some ideas in the comments below!
